About Palesa M. Mofokeng
Personal Profile
She completed her Masters in Educational Technology degree with the University of the Witwatersrand and a teacher by profession. Palesa M. Mofokeng also did both her B.Ed. & B.Ed. Honors degrees with Wits University. Mofokeng is the Founder and CEO of EDTECH BRIDGES NPC and a Chairperson of Future Stars ECD.
As a non-profit company officially registered in 2021 with the registration 2021/838954/08, Edtech Bridges is an ICT teacher training and development service provider focused on enhancing technical and technological skills of teachers in rural areas. As a service provider with the mission to enhance teaching and learning at the use of ICTs and other forms of educational technologies, the company further extends its services to township and pre-service teachers regardless of their year of study. Palesa is a mentor and an award-winning leader with immense experience in various leadership structures and governance dating back to her schooling and varsity days (including being an LRC President). The pinnacle of her leadership career and activism was when she was elected to be in the 2018/19 Wits University’s Student Representative Council as the Academic Officer. With multiple awards & recognitions to her name, most recent being: Sunday World Unsung Hero 2022 under the category of Youth in Academia & Education and being one of the Top 100 SA Shining Stars by Inside Education in 2020; her love for leadership and education enabled and continues to enable her to pioneer and spearhead educational and leadership programs within her sphere of influence proudly as a social entrepreneur and an agent of change through and with different organizations.

She was awarded the: Most Outstanding Contribution Made by an SRC Member award during her tenure in the SRC by the Wits Leadership & Development Unit in 2019. Palesa is part of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network.
